INTRAVENOUS IMMUNOGLOBULIN (IVIG) THERAPY IS THE TREATMENT OF CHOICE FOR PATIENTS WITH ANTIBODY DEFICIENCIES.
INFUSION THERAPIES: IVIG
Metro Infusion Center provides intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy for hundreds of patients with conditions that affect their body’s ability to produce antibodies.
IVIG THERAPY IS USED TO TREAT AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS/ IMMUNODEFICIENCIES, AND IDIOPATHIC DISEASES (DISEASE OF UNKNOWN CAUSE), AS WELL AS SOME NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES, INFECTIONS, AND COMPLICATIONS OF ORGAN TRANSPLANTS.
IVIG is made of antibodies that have been extracted from blood donations from 3,000-10,000 healthy donors and thus considered “biologics.” Metro Infusion Center administers both intravenous and subcutaneous immunoglobulin therapy at all facilities. Your treatment plan will vary depending on your condition and physician prescription.
